Great John St Hotel Manchester Wedding

Great John St Hotel Manchester. Bethan and Christopher

The wedding took place at the former school on the corner of Great John Street between Atherton Street and Little John Street. The Great John St Hotel Manchester, its neighbour Granada TV with the Coronation Street set is just a short distance away.  The boutique hotel is part of the Eclectic Hotel Collection, which also included Didsbury House and Didsbury Park, in Manchester.

This former County Municipal School, built in 1912, like other inner city schools, had a rooftop playground.  The rooftop is currently occupied by a roof terrace.  Newspaper articles about the hotel claim that the school educated children of itinerant canal boat workers.

The Ceremony

Bethan & Chris were both accompanied equally, six bridesmaids for Bethan and six groomsmen for Chris. In addition to this, also two flower girls. Bethan looked stunning in white and the bridesmaids comparatively radiant in green.

The ceremony room itself, also well presented with what could be described as white vintage school chairs. Correspondingly matching, the ambiance of the old schoolhouse made a stunning venue.

The ceremony began in the usual fashion and the couple had uniquely written their own words each other which they read out before the gathered onlookers.

Moving on, rings exchanged to applause and equally important at any wedding, it was time for drinks on the terrace.

The speeches

Following the rooftop terrace celebratory drinks, all attending guests made their way inside to the now transitioned ceremony room. Bethan's father's speech revealed tales of her love for dance and choreography. Meanwhile the best man delivered the usual past tales regarding the Groom.

In the same fashion, the evening celebrations ensued and the arrival of a band including a talented saxophonist. All involved celebrated in real party fashion as the celebrations and dancing continued. Bethan and Chris's Great John Street Hotel Manchester Wedding was absolutely rocking.
